Rise and shine

Tämä viikko on kulunut Chicagossa ja omien kokkailujen sijaan bloggaan tällä viikolla tästä työmatkasta. Poikkeuksellisesti teen sen myös englanniksi.

This week has passed here in Chicago and instead of regular foodstuff etc. I am blogging about this work trip. In honor of all the international people here I am also writing in english.

Theraplay-kongressia on yksi päivä takana ja aamu sarastaa toisen päivän alkua. Evanstoniin on kokooontunut ihmisiä 20 maasta eri puolilta maapalloa jakamaan kokemuksiaan theraplaysta.
Theraplay conference

One day of Theraplay conference behind and a second day dawning. In Evanston people from 20 different countries have gathered to share experiences of Theraplay.

Eilisen kohokohta oli mahdollisuus kuunnella pääluenntoisijana Edward Tronickia.

The highlight of yesterday was the keynote speaker Edward Tronick.

Iltapäivä oli pyhitetty vanhempien kanssa tehtävälle työlle ja Michael Troutin luento-osuus oli erinomainen!

The afternoon was all about working with parents and Michael Trouts presentation was excellent!

Theraplayn osalta oli ilo huomata, miten me suomalaiset olemme mukana theraplayn kehittämisessä: Suomessa kehitetty vanhempien oma theraplaykerta on tullut osaksi hoitoprotokollaa!

It was also a pleasure as a Finn to see how we have influenced the all the time evolving Theraplay. Parents session developed in Finland is now part of treatment protocol!

Päivän aikana tauoilla oli mahdollisuus saada käsihierontaa.

During the breaks there was free handmassage available.

Illalla oli  vielä juhla Theraplay Insituutin tiloissa ja siellä Ulrike Franke saksasta sai vuotuisen Ann M. Jernberg-palkinnon.

In the evening there was also a party at the Theraplay Insitute and 2013 Ann M. Jernberg award was presented to Ulrike Franke from Germany.

Juhlissa oli mahtavaa saada jutella kollegoiden kanssa eri puolilta maapalloa. Eikä ollut hassumpaa saada jakaa pieni ripaus Bollywoodia halukkaiden kanssa. Opetin siis pienen koregrafian ja tanssimme yhdessä. Kuvaa ei "valitettavasti" ole ;)

It was a pleasure to meet colleagues from all over the world at the party. And it was fun to teach a piece of Bollywood choreography to all and dance together. "Unfortunately" no pictures available of that ;)
